HOW WE WORK
Installing software in a plant that cannot stop
The difficult part of an MES project is rarely the software. It is doing the work in a facility that has orders to ship, on equipment that must keep running, with people who already have a full day. Our approach is shaped around that constraint more than anything else - small commitments first, nothing that requires a shutdown, and an honest answer at every gate about whether to continue.
How a project runs
Each stage ends in a decision. You can stop at any of them, and you will know enough at each point to make that call properly.
Discovery
We survey the machines, the controllers and the tags, understand your process and agree which KPIs matter. You get a written scope, a fixed price and a timeline. This is a small, paid engagement that stands on its own — even if you go no further, you own a clear picture of what is readable from your plant.
Pilot
One production line, real data, real screens, agreed success criteria. The pilot proves the connectivity, the architecture and the fit with how your people actually work — at a fraction of the cost of finding those things out across a whole plant.
Build and connect
Configuration of the platform for your process, tag mapping to your machines, integration with your ERP and existing systems, and installation on your infrastructure. Most of this happens away from the floor and does not interrupt production.
Commissioning
Bringing the system live line by line, alongside existing practice rather than instead of it, so nothing depends on the new system before it has proven itself. Operators are trained on the screens they will actually use.
Operate and improve
We run it: monitoring, patching, backups, updates, fixes, and a monthly pool of development hours for the changes that only become obvious once people are using it. This is where most of the relationship happens.
Working around production
No shutdown required
Acquisition is read-only and additive. Connecting to a controller does not require stopping it or changing its programme.
Parallel running
The new system runs alongside existing practice until it has earned trust. Nothing is switched off on day one.
Designed for the floor
Screens built for gloved hands, poor lighting and people mid-shift - not for a demonstration on a laptop.
In the right languages
Operator interfaces in the language of the floor, reporting in the language of the group. We have built exactly this.
Delivering across borders
Most of the work - configuration, integration, development, and the ongoing operation of the system - is done remotely. On-site time is concentrated where it genuinely adds value: the tag survey, commissioning and operator training. That keeps cost proportionate for a mid-sized plant while still putting engineers on your floor at the points that matter. We already deliver this way for plants in more than one country.
START WITH A CONVERSATION
No commitment beyond half an hour. Tell us about your plant and we will tell you how we would approach it.
